October 02 Visual Poet Salutes David Letterman and Natchez Eight Baby Boomer SiblingsToday, I highlight the Baby Boomers Tribute to recognize all Baby Boomers; eight siblings, David Letterman and other fabulous Boomers. We heard David Letterman admit to his liaisons and attempted blackmail extortion plot. Years ago in Natchez, Mississippi, eight siblings, all Baby Boomers, under the age of thirteen, sadly lost their mother. The siblings; Vivian Beatrice Young Bright, Dr. James Henry Young, Jr., Bernice Young Tolbert, Theron Young Eagleton, Lonnie Lee Young, Deborah Ann Young, Dr. Devell Ray Young and Glenda Faye Young battled adversity. In Baby Boomer style, the siblings adapted to harsh realities, relied upon intuition and forged ahead with rare confidence. David Letterman used his Boomer personality to humorously and cleverly address his issues. The siblings and David Letterman are Baby Boomers, a determined, resourceful, resilient crew. September 15 Visual Poet Dubs Natchez Grandma; Grandma Charity, Grandparent of the CenturyI believe for over 70 years, Natchez, Mississippi was graced with the most interestingly amazing grandma ever; my Grandma Charity. Grandma Charity was never acknowledged by the Governor of Mississippi or the Natchez City Council. No, Grandma Charity never knew fame. But, she definitely possessed super powers of wisdom and tons of unconditional love. And, not one person who interacted with her was able to resist improving themselves. Even though Grandma Charity is no longer with us, her selfless deeds continue to fuel and influence many generations. So, on Grandparents' Day 2009, Grandma Charity is dubbed as Grandparent of the Century. September 13 Visual Poet Pays Tribute to the Incredible Negro League Baseball PlayersSeveral years ago, I was fortunate to meet numerous Negro League players in Secaucus, New Jersey. I was in baseball heaven; all of the players were ever so accommodating and genuinely humble. For years I had seen pictures of Negro League baseball players. Then, during one fall weekend, I not only met and took pictures of countless number of Negro league players, but also Lionel Hampton. My time with those incredible players of the Negro Leagues inspired the Players of Valor, the Negro Baseball Leagues poem and visual poetry. September 10 Visual Poet Acknowledges National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery MonthEach year, September is recognized as National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. The many lives ripped apart due to chemical substances inspired my Recovery Road poem. And, the Recovery Road visual poetry was created to encourage individuals who honestly desire sobriety and long-term recovery. No, denial must not be allowed to control and domineer. For, to sustain recovery, one must be determined, committed and sincere… September 07 Visual Poet Encourage Houston Citizens to Take the Poop Scoop PledgeI am appalled to know that Houston, Texas ranks the lowest on the list for responsible pet poop scooping in the United States. On any given day I see numerous proud pet owners walking their meticulously trimmed and leashed pals allowing them to drop piles of poop. I have yet to have seen one Houston pet owner scoop their pets poop; instead they praise their pets as they walk away. I am challenging Houstonians to seriously take the Poop Scoop Pledge. Houstonians when you walk here and there with your best pal, proudly carry a scooper to remove all residual. Houstonians, don’t allow your neighborhood duty to go awry, many can be harmed by the fecal bacteria group. So, when pal squats to drop piles of poop, quickly remove it with a clean swoop. September 03 Visual Poet Honor the Young and the Restless Distinct Dramatic RealismYes, I know the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards Winners have been revealed. I categorically disagree with the winner of the 2009 Daytime Emmy Best Drama Award. Obviously, someone made a mistake; for the Young and the Restless is dramatic realism at its best. The Y & R story threads are carefully woven with exciting twists and turns and always chock-full of lessons to learn. My Effervesce Award visual poetry was created to eternally honor the Young and the Restless as the number one soap opera of all time. August 17 President Barack Obama Disappoints Visual PoetYes, the visual poems were delivered to President Obama and I received the same generic card that others have posted on the internet. I am disappointed President Obama didn’t or chose not to seize the opportunity to view the visual poems; President Barack Obama Bust on Stand and Torch of Change. August 04 Visual Poet Pays Tribute to the Deacons for Defense and JusticeWell, circumstances have delayed the visual poetry exhibition, for now. But, I have begun the writing phase to pay the utmost tribute to my heroes; the Deacons for Defense and Justice, especially the Natchez Mississippi chapter. And, very soon I will carefully sculpt an awesome visual poem to honor those valiantly determined men of the Civil Rights Movement, the Deacons. April 23 Visual Poet Delivers Bust on a Stand and Torch of Change to President Barack ObamaNow that my hiatus is over; I finally mailed the Torch of Change and a Bust on Stand visual poems to President Barack Obama. After all, I think it’s only fair that President Obama has an opportunity to view his unique bust on a stand and torch before they are displayed in my visual poetry exhibitions throughout America. February 28 Visual Poetry Exhibition; Reality, Per Se Debuts during National Poetry MonthWell, David Letterman did not call, but I have been asked to display an exhibition of my visual poems. The National Poetry Month debut of Reality, Per Se; An Exhibition of Visual Poetry will jump start an exciting chain of events, all centered on my collection of visual poetry. It appears as though visual poetry may actually help to soothe Americans during the economic crisis. December 26 President-Elect Barack Obama Honored with Inaugural Poem; The Torch Bearer of ChangeDear Diary, President-elect Barack Obama’s inaugural poem wasn’t on my mind. Because, since Election Day 2008, I have focused on creating Presidential Poetic Portraits and visual poetry to honor President George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Much to my surprise, I wrote and sculpted a visual poem, an inaugural poem; The Torch Bearer of Change. Now, I think I’ll retire my writing hand until spring; unless David Letterman requests me to showcase my visual poems on the Late Show. David Letterman, you will decide whether or not, my creativity shines during the next four months. December 12 President-Elect Barack Obama Honored With Unique Visual PoetryDay 32 - Dear Diary; I surprised myself and spent almost every day since Election Day 2008 relentlessly writing and sculpting. And, voila', Mission: Accomplished, I have completed Presidential Poetic Portraits and Visual Poetry to honor President-elect Barack Obama and President George W. Bush. Now, it’s time for a much needed vacation. November 27 President-Elect Barack Obama’s Inauguration Poem; Visual Poet, UntappedDay 31 - Dear Diary: No, I wasn’t asked to deliver President-Elect Barack Obama’s Inauguration Poem. And, nor did I expect to be asked, for I’m an unknown poet and I’m sure President-Elect Barack Obama has tapped someone who is popular, politically connected and can afford to attend. If I had delivered the 2009 Inauguration Poem, it would’ve been realizing an impossible dream. Regardless, my Presidential Poetic Portrait and Visual Poetry will always be more than appropriate to pay tribute to all United States Presidents; including President George W. Bush and President-Elect Barack Obama. November 08 Visual Poet Attacked By Enraged President-Elect Barack Obama SupportersDay 30 - Dear Dairy, I was recently verbally attacked by enraged, overreacting supporters of president-elect Barack Obama. According to the enraged supporters, I’m obligated to describe president-elect Barack Obama as the best president, ever. These supporters revealed unnatural, unrealistic expectations of ways to praise president-elect Obama. They justified reasons to attack those who don’t support or disrespect president-elect Obama. It’s time for healing in America, mainly for those not living in the real world. I’ll accurately honor president-elect Barack Obama with my Presidential Poetic Portrait, Visual Poetry. November 04 Visual Poet Honors President-Elect, Barack Obama; Now, It’s Time For HealingDay 29 - Dear diary, the 2008 presidential race has runs its course; Barack Obama is America’s President-Elect. I will spend the next two months sculpting the unique Presidential Poetic Portraits and Visual Poetry to honor President-Elect Barack Obama and President George W. Bush. Now that the 2008 presidential campaign has ended, I think the lyrics by the Sounds of Blackness are more than appropriate, It’s Time For Healing. October 28 Visual Poet At Home Stretch, 2008 Presidential Race: Change, Rhetoric-Ready vs. Country-First, GuaranteeDay 28 - Dear Diary, the 2008 presidential race is nearing the home stretch. There’s Barack Obama galloping in on Change, Rhetoric-Ready, carrying bags of confetti promises. And, John McCain determinedly sauntering in on Country-First, Guarantee; balanced with years of experience. Well, so goes the 2008 presidential race, the most expensive and yet, the most aggressive battle for Commander-In-Chief, ever. Still, I’m prepared to honor John McCain or Barack Obama with the unique Presidential Poetic Portrait and Visual Poetry. October 25 Visual Poet Moved By Patti LaBelle Lyrics As 2008 Presidential Race Predictions SwirlDay 27 - Dear Diary, I have not missed a beat in creating the Presidential Poetic Portrait and Visual Poetry to honor John McCain or Barack Obama. The 2008 presidential campaign has Americans questioning if John McCain or Barack Obama would be the best candidate to steer the United States through these uncertain economic times. I think the 2008 presidential race predictions would’ve been simple if the candidates had treated one another with respect and brotherly love. I am moved by Patti LaBelle lyrics in Wouldn’t It Be Beautiful. America would be better off if we consistently display love and acceptance of one another. October 14 Visual Poet Waits at Finish Line of Presidential Race: Is It John McCain or Barack ObamaDay 26 - Dear Dairy, it’s just 21 days until the USA election 2008 and I’m feeling energized as I continue to weave Presidential Poetic Portraits and Visual Poetry. I’m writing about John McCain, Barack Obama and President George W. Bush. President Bush has been America’s Commander-In-Chief for eight years; doesn’t he deserve to be honored for years of service. As a result, I’m dedicated to maintaining my tradition of honoring America’s incoming and outgoing Presidents. Traditions are important to uphold; so, I’m waiting at the presidential race finish line, to honor John McCain or Barack Obama along with President Bush.
October 07 Visual Poets Emulate Sculpted Presidential Poetic Portraits and Visual PoetryDay 25 - Dear diary, my goal to honor John McCain or Barack Obama is on task. I’m continuing to interweave and precisely sculpt the Presidential Poetic Portraits and Visual Poetry. The 2008 presidential campaign has many emulating my visual poetry; I’ll take this as a compliment, since imitation is supposedly the highest form of flattery. It’s a good thing, because the public is now more aware of visual poetry; all courtesy of the 2008 presidential candidates. Regardless, I remain true to the original form of visual poetry; the same as George Herbert in 1633. October 01 Visual Poet Influenced By African Prince Ibrahima; Presidential Poetic Portrait and Visual Poetry Won’t Be DefeatedDay 24 - Dear diary, I am blocking the negative vibes of others, because defeat is and never will be an option. No, I’m not known by many and I do not have “A Name That You Know”. Instead, I’m an unknown writer committed to paying tribute to our next President, whether John McCain or Barack Obama. I’m an unknown writer who will honor President George W. Bush as he completes his second term. The African prince, Ibrahima and other souls tapped into their resilient determination to endure the abomination of slavery. The pessimism hurled my way does not compare to slavery; just the same, I’ll firmly stand against it. |
